招生对象：
（一）小学六年级应届毕业生。
（二）以下情况属于首批解决入读广大附中大学城校区面向小谷围街辖区招生的对象范围：
1.报名时父母一方或双方在小谷围街辖区内十所高校工作的在编在职教职工（即各高校在小谷围街校区内工作的在编在职教师、教辅人员、行政管理人员）的适龄儿童。
2.报名时具有小谷围街四条保留村户籍且户籍登记住址在小谷围街辖区内的小学应届毕业生。
3.报名时符合“人户一致”条件的小谷围街各小区户籍小学应届毕业生。
如上述三种情况适龄儿童报读人数超出学位数的，采用摇号派位方式确定入读名单。摇号派位落选的适龄儿童可安排入读广东第二师范学院番禺附属初中或自愿选择申请入读民办初中。

该校最为著名的班级则是课改班，适合三科较平均发展的学生。这些学生在初中时将会进行新型课改的教学方式进行培养。虽然竞赛级的奖项不多，但是班上学生整体水平十分优秀，在2016年的中考成绩中能和广大附的大奥班比肩，同样能达到737分。

该校由广州大学附属中学与博雅国际教育集团合作创办的一所九年一贯制民办寄宿性学校。因此很多初一学生来自本校的小学部，因此初中整体水平比较平均。但是在花都区，也是相当不错的了。
